In the coming days, Guatemalan president Jimmy Morales must appoint a new Attorney General for the 2018 – 2022 period. The Guatemalan Constitution establishes that a Nomination Commission must select and propose a roster of six applicants to the position of Attorney General; this Commission is integrated by 15 members who represent the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorneys’ College, and the law schools of the nation’s universities.
