Senior Programme Officer - West Asia and North Africa

Adam al-Alou joined Impunity Watch in August 2022 as a MENA Programme Officer. His work is focused on Syria, namely on supporting civil society and victim participation, in addition to other areas like housing, land, and property rights (HLP).

Adam holds a master’s degree in Governance and Democracy Studies and combines years of experience in research and advocacy. He is a former research fellow and lecturer at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL). His research spanned different thematic areas including migration, human rights, and extremism. He was also a consultant for the International Organization for Migration (IOM). In the two years prior to joining Impunity Watch, he had worked in data analysis and later in advocacy and communications at the White Helmets.
